Middle school
Teachers in our Logic stage focus on understanding.
They recognize the student’s inclination to ask questions. Students in this stage use wisdom information they gathered in the primary and grammar years to compare and contrast ideologies and examine them from different perspectives. Our teachers encourage our scholars to reason and argue with wisdom. Across the curriculum, emphasis is placed on the questions why, how, and what in an effort to facilitate discussions across traditional subject lines.
Logic students at Cambridge Classical Academy will:
- be introduced to formal logic
- learn the process of research and reporting results through the scientific method
- understand the natural order and patterns in math, English grammar, literature and writing
- test and analyze information to find truth based on evidence and critical thinking
- continue to cultivate the how and why in literature, history and science
- develop abstract thought and interact with knowledge
